Where Can You Eat in Austin TX on Thanksgiving 2018 Without a Reservation?

There are plenty of great restaurants open on Thanksgiving Day, but many require a reservation well in advance. So what if you are leaving it to the last minute (or just want to keep your options open)? Where can you eat in Austin TX on Thanksgiving 2018 without a reservation? These Austin restaurants open on Thanksgiving 2018 offer not only great food at competitive prices (we focused on places offering a good meal for less than $60) but either don’t require or frankly won’t take a reservation. Bear in mind that “no reservation” may still mean standing in line for a while, but that’s just the price a person pays for venturing out of the house on Turkey Day.
First-Come, First-Serve Restaurants Under $30
Diner 24
This diner usually offers a Thanksgiving feast for $29 per adult that includes turkey, ham, choice of two sides and pumpkin pie. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. and the diner is open until midnight (though the turkey may run out before then). Watch their Facebook page for updates as Thanksgiving gets closer.
Hyde Park Bar and Grill
Information has not been updated yet for 2018, but both Hyde Park Bar and Grill locations usually serve a Thanksgiving Feast from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. all day on Thanksgiving. Cost was $21.95 per adult last year, with reduced vegetarian and children prices available. See last year’s information here.
In the past the Moonshine Grille and Golden Corral have also offer reservation-free Thanksgiving dining options for less than $30.
$50 Or More For Thanksgiving Without Reservation
Brix and Ale
Last year this restaurant (located in the Sheraton Georgetown Texas Hotel and Conference Center) offered a Thanksgiving buffet from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for $50 per adult. We could find no reservation requirements. Check their events page closer to the date.
Second Bar + Kitchen
Located in the Archer Hotel, it looks like this restaurant will be offering a full Thanksgiving buffet for just $55 per adult. It will be open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and we could find no reservation requirements.
The Capitol Grille is another restaurant where a reservation is encouraged but not required, if you are willing to take your chances with the Thanksgiving lines.
