What features are in the Nissan Safety Shield 360 system?
At time of writing (December 2018) there were six core features included in the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of driver assistance features. They are Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Automatic Braking, and High Beam Assist.
The Intelligent Driver Alertness feature, which informs drivers when they may be too drowsy to be behind the wheel, is also becoming a more common feature on Nissan vehicles.
What Nissan vehicles have Safety Shield 360?
While Nissan plans to offer this suite of safety feature as a standard advantage by 2021, its availability is currently restricted to upper trims of select 2019 models. Nissan vehicles that offer Safety Shield 360 include 2019 Altima, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Murano and Maxima.
Other Nissan Safety Features
While Intelligence Cruise Control (which will adapt its speed automatically when cruise control is activated so that you don’t run into a slower car) and Traffic Sign Recognition are not considered standard features for Nissan vehicles, they are available on more and more models. We look forward to welcoming these advantages to our pre-owned Nissan inventory here at Third Coast Autos in a few years.
