St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, falling this year on Saturday, March 17, and it should be especially exciting because this celebration of all things Irish will also be happening during the SXSW Festival celebrating music, film, and other entertainment. Here are few of the top St. Patrick’s Day events 2018 in Austin TX that can offer you a great time in green.
St. Patrick’s Day Austin
Where:Pioneer Farms, 10621 Pioneer Farms Drive, Austin
When: Noon to 7 p.m. on St. Patrick’s Day
Cost: $12 for adults, $4 for children (13 and under), 2-year-olds and under are free
More: This annual celebration features a huge lineup of bands, drummers, dancers and more. From clogging to laser tag to Gaelic language intros, there is something for everyone at this all-day celebration of the Emerald Isle.
Fado Irish Pub Block Party
Where: Fado Irish Pub, 214 W 4th Street, and a chunk of 4th Street
When: Doors open at 10 a.m. and live music runs until at least midnight (probably 1 or 2 a.m.)
Cost: $15 at the door, 21+ only (pre-sale tickets have already closed)
More: Fado is closing at the end of March (though they may re-open in another location) which means that this block party for St. Patrick’s Day may be the best one yet. It will run no matter the weather. You can find a full band lineup on their Facebook page.
Jack & Ginger’s St. Patrick’s Day Street Festival
Where:Jack & Ginger’s Irish Pub (11500 Rock Rose Ave) and a portion of Rock Rose Ave.
When: 8 a.m. to midnight on March 17
Cost: $10 before noon, $20 noon to close. No pre-sale.
More: With live music for most of the day, great Irish food, green beer, a bagpipe player and more, this block party and festival is as a great way to have fun with the Irish spirit this St. Patrick’s Day.
