Here are a few of our top choices for Austin Valentine’s Day date ideas 2018 that are a little out of the ordinary (because you and your SO deserve the extraordinary). Unless noted, all of these take place on Feb. 14, 2018.
Maggiano’s Valentine’s Day Murder Mystery
Like a little mayhem with your dinner? Enjoy the “Love is at Steak” show, and try to figure out who the murderer is while enjoying a delicious family style Italian dinner. Cost is $62.15 per person and the show runs from 6:30-9 p.m.

Austin Carriage offer historic tours, romantic rides, and transportation in Austin and the surrounding area. Most times may be booked for Valentine’s Day, but you can learn more at their Special Occasions & Events page. The usual cost (per carriage) ranges from $60 for 30 minutes to $150 for a 75 minute tour. Prices may be higher for Valentine’s Day.
Zilker Botanical Garden
The beautiful Austin area Botanical Garden doesn’t have any specific events happening for Valentine’s Day, but it should be open during regular hours (9-5pm) for you and a loved one to tour the grounds and view the flowers and landscape. Cost is $2 for adult Austin residents ($3 non-residents, $1 for children and seniors).
